Car description

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this nice driving, final year 3000 MK3 finished in a lovely color scheme. This car was recently purchased from it's long term owner who maintained the car well and drove it often. It's wearing an attractive older cosmetic restoration that still shows well. The car is mechanically very good and drives fine with no issues. It was produced in 1967 and titled here in the US the following year. The bodywork on this car is quite nice and straight. Door gaps look pretty normal and the doors latch shut with no fuss. The hood and trunk open and close fine. The trunk lid sits a little proud due to a poor, stiff trunk seal. Paintwork overall is striking and glossy, but is older showing some age in the form of some light lifting/shrinkage on the center of the shroud near the wiper bezels, and on top of the LH front fender. Chromework all around is very good to excellent, as most of it has been replated. Glass is decent, with a small repair made to the windshield. There is some typical minor bubbling, that is barely noticeable, on the outer rockers and lower doglegThe car's interior shows a very nice restored wooden dashboard with full operating gauges. The front seats are amazingly original in the correct red Ambla factory material. The rest of the trim is a mixture of older reupholstered door panels, rear seat area, and a decent black carpet kit. The car is fitted with a handsome, period original and correct Motolita wood/alloy wheel of the exposed rivet and inner rim variety. The black top boot is the car's original and fits great. The soft top is largely very good but could use a simple replacement of a new zip-out rear plastic window.Mechanically the car is very good to excellent. There are no apparent issues and the car drives fine. The engine starts on choke and warms up slowly to operating temperature usually in 5 minutes. From there the gauge shows it runs on the cool side. Oil pressure is good, the engine revs smoothly and quietly with no smoke through a nice exhaust system. Brakes, suspension, shocks, steering all operate correctly and the car rolls along smoothly and confidently on it's nice chrome wire wheel/tire set. PLEASE SEE VIDEO. The car's engine compartment is clean and nicely detailed with fluids all clean and up to the mark. The car's underside appears completely solid.Overall, a nice driver, final year BJ-8 in great colors. This car drives and operates well and is lots of fun out on the road. It presents nicely wearing it's older restoration and is a very approachable car to enjoy/invest in going forward.
