Car description

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very good BJ-8 for easy recommissioning. This Big Healey was just purchased from it's second owner who acquired the car in the early seventies and has provided a statement of facts on his ownership of the car. This Healey was modestly painted only once in the 1970's and remains fairly original today. The body on this car is quite exceptional with only some slight rust found in the car's original dogleg area in front of the rear wheels. There is some minor rust through on the trunk floor near the LH rear bumper extension, and some slight bubbling on the rear of the trunk lip, but an easy repair. The rest of the car looks excellent, dry, straight, and solid with very nice fitting panels and no signs of accidents. Paintwork is older, along with the car's original chrome, triplex glass, etc.The car's interior is highly original still retaining it's Ambla seat material, original dash, carpets, BMC radio, top boot with bag, original heel mat, tool kit with bag, tonneau bag, battery cover, knock-off hammer, etc. The interior could very possibly be saved and improved with a new carpet kit and top, and careful replacement/minor restoration of some items.Mechanically, the car's correct engine ran great when parked, and the owner has been religiously turning it over every few years. It should just at least a major fuel system, brake service, and tire set to return it to the road. The car includes some spare parts pictured, including original brake rebuild kits and some exhaust parts.Overall, a wonderfully preserved BJ-8 in the final year of production and in the best colors, with a documented two-owners and low mileage from new. This exciting garage discovery is a desirable survivor car. It's the perfect, easy, weekend project to return to the road and then upgrade with cosmetics going forward, as needed.
