Car description

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this exceptionally well-preserved, last year BJ-8 Convertible in a great original color scheme. This car was recently purchased from a Pacific Northwest collector who acquired this car years ago and was saving it as a retirement project. Because of his health, he realized his limitations and reluctantly offered us the car for sale. This car, 51 years after it's production and leaving the factory, is one of the best cars we've seen in a long time for very simple, easy improvement. The body and chassis on this car is quite exceptional. Panel fit and gapping is per factory. Grille and light fit is perfect. All of the panels open and close well, with doors that just click shut. No damage to any parts of the shrouds. It appears the car was taken off the road with a mere 13 years of use and was only repainted one time, still in it's original white. The car needs some very minimal dogleg repair, a driver's toe board panel and possibly a trunk floor installed, but the rest of the car is amazingly perfect ! A lot of the original chromework is even very nice, and will clean up for use again. The car's red interior is original. Most of the carpets have been removed. The top has been replaced once. The car includes the factory black tonneau and top boot, as well as the rare original jack and knockoff hammer.A battery was fitted as well as fuel that was gravity fed into the SU carbs. The car fired the first time and ran beautifully, with correct oil pressure (see video). The engine appears to have been hot-tanked and rebuilt at some point, with newer paint, freeze plugs, rebuilt carbs, new water pump, etc. To make this car a driver, the braking and fuel system would need a service, as well fitting up the new mild steel exhaust system, that is also provided along with the car.($1000 value).Overall, a superb, well-preserved car that has been stored away forever and is a scarce find in the current market. This fantastic specimen would be the perfect start for a Concours restoration or could simply be improved and enjoyed with some light cosmetics and some easy mechanical work.VIDEO LINK OF ENGINE RUNNING HERE:https://youtu.be/8sFzajiqge8
