1967 Austin Healey

Here at MissChiTown we are a marketing service for car collectors that want to have their cars presented on eBay. Every once in a while, we get a car that just knocks our socks off! Yes, we are also car collectors ourselves and we know the great ones from the good ones. The Austin Healey in this ad is not just a great frame off restoration it is worthy of a presentation at Pebble Beach. The owner of this car is a very serious post-war English sports car collector and wanted the best Austin Healey of this model that existed. So, he went to marque specialists at Healey Lane and gave them an open checkbook to make the car the finest that they could.

Just in case you have not heard of Healey Lane of California, the two restoration specialists at this Austin Healey facility Tom and Randee Rocke of the Healey Lane in Riverside, CA, their company is one of the two most highly respected Austin Healey restorers in the world and their reputation has spread far and wide with the Austin Healeys that they have restored that have not only won important first places at many important car shows but some of their Austin Healeys have sold for astronomical amounts that would be a handsome price for a rare XKE. They are known for being very particular about not only their craftsmanship but also about any parts or components that they use in their restorations. If you question our interpretation of the reputation of this company then we suggest that you satisfy your curiosity and check them out on the internet, we know you will be impressed.

We believe that when you look at the pictures and look at the video and the description of this car, you will agree that it has to be one of the best…if not the best, Austin Healey 3000 BJ8 convertible that exists. To top that off, the color scheme of the car is amazing and shows the car off perfectly. If you are a collector of rare post-war English sports car or a serious Austin Healey collector, then you now have the opportunity to buy one of the finest!

The frame off restoration was completed in 2011 and since then the owner has only put on 777 miles and has kept the car in premier show condition. Again, this car is ready for Pebble Beach, Amelia Island or any other high end shows where you want to be the envy of all the other collectors and especially Austin Healey collectors.

Keep in mind that for many car collectors, the Austin Healey of the 1950s and 1960s is considered to be one of the most beautiful sports car designs ever. There is absolutely no question that if it is not the most beautiful design it is certainly among the most beautiful designs for any sports car.

Here at MissChiTown we are great fans of this car, especially in its six-cylinder version where by the 1960s it became more civilized, not only as a sports car but as a very comfortable and powerful touring car. We should not forget to mention that Austin Healey were well known in their day for excellent handling characteristics and were the very favorite make for many of the road racers of the day.

The luxurious interior with wood trim and wind up windows is complimented by the high power 3 litre engine with the new factory high lift cam shaft that was put out in 1967. Of course the twin carburetors add to the engine’s ability to have plenty of “get up and go” when called upon. Even the exhaust system was specially designed by the factory in 1967. In 1967 Servo-assisted brakes were also added.

The following is a description provided by the private seller for the car in this eBay auction.

Matching numbers 150 hp, 2,912 cc OHV inline six-cylinder engine with dual two-inch SU carburetors, four-speed manual transmission with overdrive, independent front suspension, hydraulic front disc and rear drum brakes.

Please note that this car does come with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate and will be supplied to the purchaser.

We purposely do not supply the last digits of the numbers to the general inquiries as the actual purchaser very often does not alway want their new car’s identifying information spread out all over the internet.

This model Austin Healey is currently on a fast upward appreciation curve financially, showing that the collectors are putting their money where their mouth is. Increased demand of course increases the price as time goes on. Here at MissChiTown we consider this to be an excellent investment for a collectible car and certainly a good looking and sporty ride at that!

So again if you are looking for nothing but the finest and have an itch for an Austin Healey in the best possible color scheme done by the best restoration company for Austin Healeys that was given blank checks to make it the best they could, we think you have found it.

Keep in mind that this model has roll up windows, practically no mileage since restoration (enough miles that the car has been fully sorted out) then this could be the car that you need for your collection. The owner has put a reserve on this car that is so much lower than his restoration costs. Also when you buy a car that is fully restored by a top restoration company you are saving the aggravation and seeing the end product before you have made the decision for purchase. Again, check out the pictures and the video and we know that you will be duly impressed. This is definitely a car to bid to win and be happy that you did!
