BT7/BN7 were the ONLY HEALEYS TO SPORT THREE CARBURETORS. which makes them very rare and highly collectible. ______________________________________________ Throughout the years the Austin-Healey retained its original look through each generation: softly rounded lines. oval grille. a long hood and short rear deck. Healeys are one of the most attractive of production sports cars. with a style and appearance still pleasing to the eye today. In 1959. Austin Healey upgraded their flagship model to the 3000. which was the longest-lived and most successful of all the Healeys. Of the original Mark I models. 13. 50 cars were made up through 1961. Then in 1962 Austin Healey introduced the sought after Mark II Tri-Carb model. which differed primarily in having a more powerful engine with triple carburetors. with only 5. 50 of these being built. The Mark II was introduced to compete with the Jaguar E-Type. The Mark II was offered as a 4-seat roadster called the BT7 or the 2-seat variant known as the BN7. Both versions used flat front windscreens and detachable side curtains (which happened to be the last year for Healeys to have side curtains). The rear panel of the BT7 was cut out much deeper towards the truck to make room of the small jumper seats in the rear. 1962 was the ONLY year Healey offered this Tri-Carb model SPORTING THREE CARBURETORS. which makes the Tri-Carb very rare and highly collectible. ______________________________________________ THE HEALEY BEING OFFERED here is a beautiful example of a 1962 Austin Healey 3000.
