Car description

1966 AUSTIN HEALEY 3000 MK 3 PHASE 2 BJ-8 SPORTS CONVERTIBLE. HEALEY BLUE WITH NAVY BLUE TRIM AND TOP. 4-SPEED WITH OVERDRIVE GEARBOX. WIRE WHEELS. FIXED STEERING WHEEL. ORIGINAL CAR FOR IMPROVEMENT.Offered for sale, rom KURT TANNER MOTORCARS is this very decent and original BJ-8 Convertible that left the factory in the quintessential color scheme of Healey Blue/ Navy Blue trim. It is the very late desirable Phase 2 model with revised rear suspension, ouble side lights, ush-button lockable door handles, alnut dashboard, ower brakes, nd 150 bhp engine. According to the previous owner, his car was running and driving fine a few years ago, ntil the brake pedal lost pressure and the car was put into storage. The car appears to be very original except for the replacement of the rocker panels and front fenders with fiberglass items some years ago, hen they were readily available. The rest of the panels are all original to the car and in the correct material. There is some small damage to the RH rear fender. The panel fit all around is very decent. Grille fit is very good. A luggage rack was previously fitted to the trunk lid. Overall, he appearance of the exterior body is nice. The car most likely still retains it's original BJ-8 engine # 29K/RU/H11614. This engine turns nicely by hand and was presumably running well when put into storage. The engine oil level is clean and up to the mark. The fuel and brake systems would need some attention. This car could be cleaned up a bit and easily be made into a driver...The interior trim on the car is highly original in it's correct Navy blue Ambla vinyl. The carpets have been changed at one point but the car remains intact with the rest of it's original panel kit, ront and rear seats, rmrest, op pad, ooden dashboard, onneau cover, riginal style soft top, riginal BMC radio, ey set, tc. Some items may clean up fine and prove to be put into service again. The seat bottoms could use new foam. The car's mainrails are beautifully straight. It could use new rockers and outriggers at some point. The trunk floor and mainfloors appear solid. The front toeboard areas need some repairs, s seen from underneath the car. Overall, this BJ-8 is a decent car for improvement, estoration, r to turn into a driver. It is the highly desirable and late 3000 MK3 Phase 2 model which offers all the sensible and user-friendly upgrades. $32,500. Please look at all pictures and call or email with any questions.
