Car description

*****THIS MARLIN IS LOCATED IN EUREKA, MONTANA ZIP 59917****** UP FOR AUCTION IS MY 1-OWNER 1965 AMC MARLIN I PURCHASED FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER. GARY D. SWENSON OF LIBBY MONTANA PURCHASED THIS MARLIN NEW AT JENKINS MOTORS IN LIBBY MONTANA IN 1965. PICTURED IS GARY ON THE SHOWROOM FLOOR BUYING THIS EXACT MARLIN NEW. ALSO PICTURED IS GARY ON THE DAY HE SOLD IT TO ME, ON THE ORIGINAL TITLE DATED 5/21/65. THIS CAR WAS PARKED AT GARYS HOUSE IN 1985 AND SAT THERE UNTIL WE DUG IT OUT ON MAY, 12TH 2020. POWERED BY THE ORIGINAL 327-4BBL (HOLLEY LIST 3044) AND VERY RARE 3-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION +OVERDRIVE “TWIN STICK”. THIS WAS A DOUBLE SHIFTED MANUAL GEARBOX 3 SPEED AND AN ADDITIONAL GEAR SELECTOR FOR OVERDRIVE. THIS WAS A $145.00 OPTION AND WAS VERY RARE. ALSO OPTIONED ON THIS CAR WAS POWER STEERING, POWER FRONT DISC BRAKES, BUCKET SEATS WITH CENTER CONSOLE (BECAUSE OF THE TWIN STICK), WIRE SPOKED HUB CAPS. THIS CAR HAS 24,124 ORIGINAL MILES VERIFIED BY GARY. WEARING MOST OF THE ORIGINAL PAINT (DRIVER & PASSENGER FRONT FENDERS PAINTED), THIS VERY SOLID AND RUST FREE EXAMPLE IS VERY IN TACT AND COMPLETE. WE WERE ABLE TO GET IT RUNNING AFTER 33+ YEARS & IT RUNS VERY WELL. WE BYPASSED THE FUEL SYSTEM AND BOTTLE FED THE CARB TO BYPASS THE TANK/FUEL SYSTEM. IT WILL NEED A TANK/FUEL SYSTEM FLUSH TO GET IT BACK TO NORMAL, WE WANTED TO VERIFY IT RUNS AND I HAVE A GREAT VIDEO OF IT RUNNING I WOULD BE HAPPY TO SHARE. THATS AS FAR AS WE TOOK IT, BESIDES CLEANING IT UP. WE DID NOT TRY TO DRIVE IT, ENGAGE THE TRANSMISSION/CLUTCH, OR FOOL WITH THE BRAKES. IT DOES ROLL VERY EASY BUT PLAN ON WINCHING IT ON THE TRAILER TO GET IT LOADED/HOME. THE CAR IS VERY VERY SOLID ON TOP AND UNDERNEATH. THE TRIM IS IN GREAT SHAPE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE DRIVER REAR 1/4 MOLDING AND THE MOLDING TO THE LEFT OF THE DRIVER REAR TAILLIGHT (MISSING). THE FLOORS ARE RUST FREE AND FREE OF ANY RUST AND ROT. THE FOUNDATION OF THIS CAR IS AMAZING. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE FENDERS BEING PAINTED, THIS CAR IS COMPLETELY ORIGINAL DOWN TO THE ORIGINAL FLOOR MATS WHICH ARE IN VERY NICE SHAPE. WE PUT NEW TIRES ON TO MAKE LIFE EASY ROLLING THE CAR AROUND.
